Coats of Many Colors started as an organization that not only provides for the homeless, but strives to build relationships with the homeless community across the Gulf Coast. The organization began its start with a simple "Hello." Chelsey Sayasane met a man that would forever change her heart. An unusual friendship began to grow in a small-town coffeeshop in Saraland, Alabama. Mr. Jimmy lives his life under a interstate bridge in Mobile, Alabama. "Every homeless man and woman needs a coat" said Mr. Jimmy. This sparked a passion in Chelsey's life striving to make a difference not only in Mr. Jimmy's life but in her community.
Coats of Many Colors collects coats throughout each month and distributes nearly 300 coats at the end of every month. The organization teams up with One Meal one Sunday out of the moth. One Meal feeds the homeless every Sunday and has provided Sunday dinners for over seven years. If you want to join the team, please contact us! We are changing the world, one coat at a time.
Our partnership with Slingshot will allow us to leverage their national brand to further COMC's cause of providing coats to every homeless person in our country. The mission of Coats of Many Colors partnered with the resources provided by Slingshot will allow us to make a huge impact on the homeless community in our nation. They aim to do this by raising awareness and donating a percentage of their profits to the cause. Check them out!
